Rules
All participants must follow the rules to maintain fairness, safety, and integrity. Violations such as using private data or plagiarizing will result in disqualification.
Prohibited Content:
Participants must not use confidential or proprietary data, create harmful or illegal content, or plagiarize. All analyses must respect the terms of service of any models or datasets used. Original work or proper citations are required.
Ethical Commitment:
Participants are expected to act with integrity, inclusivity, and collaboration. This event is about creating solutions that prioritize safety and community impact, not just winning.
Overview and Agreement:
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Participation in the AI Bias Bounty Hackathon (the âHackathonâ) constitutes full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules (the âRulesâ) and the decisions of the organizers and judges, which are final and binding. By registering or submitting an entry, each participant (the âEntrantâ) agrees to comply with and be bound by these Rules and acknowledges that failure to meet all eligibility criteria and submission requirements may result in disqualification.
Participation Criteria & Eligibility
Who Can Participate
Participants must be legally eligible to enter online competitions in their country; all experience levels are welcome.
Submissions must include a trained model used to detect bias in the synthetic dataset provided, and proper documentation, all submitted by the deadline.
All code must be original or properly credited and uploaded to GitHub with clear instructions.
Who Cannot Participate
Employees, interns, or direct contractors of the Sponsor are not eligible to win prizes, and any participant presenting a conflict of interest may be disqualified at the Sponsorâs discretion.
Residents of countries under OFAC or similar government restrictions may be ineligible for monetary prizes but can still participate.

Penalty for Breaking the Rules
- Any violation of the rules will result in automatic disqualification from the hackathon.
Use of Materials & IP
All submissions remain the intellectual property of their creators. However, by participating, you agree to:

Follow open-source best practices if using third-party data/tools.
We provide starter kit, synthetic datasets and optional tools to help you get started. No need to start from scratch; just bring curiosity, technical creativity, and a willingness to explore AI failure modes.
