How to Join the AI Bias Bounty Hackathon

Here’s everything you need to know to get started and participate successfully in the AI Bias Bounty Hackathon.

Step 1: Register for the Hackathon
  • You can participate as an individual or form team of 2–4. Use the Devpost team-matching board to find teammates.
  • Sign up on the official hackathon website and complete the registration with your name, email, and role (e.g., developer, researcher, policy analyst, or designer)
Step 2: Receive Your Onboarding Starter Kit
  • A week before the event, you'll get a welcome email, a Discord invite, and the downloadable Participant Starter Kit.
  • The kit includes the synthetic financial dataset, reporting templates, onboarding guide, rubric and submission checklists — check your spam folder if needed.
Step 3: Join the Orientation & Kickoff Session
  • Attend the kickoff for a live demo of the platform walkthrough and tracks, and a panel discussion with AI experts.
  • A recording will be available, but attending live is highly encouraged for Q&A and interaction.
Step 4: Connect on Slack
  • Introduce yourself in #introductions, join your team channel, and use #questions and #resources for support.
  • Find collaborators or get technical help from the community
  • Stay active, as all official updates, announcements, and judging info will be shared there.
Step 5: Start Building
  • Each team/participant must build a working model and document their findings.
Step 6: Submit Your Project
